Estimated revenue
If you're adding a new path with no sales yet, estimate it: e.g., you can multiply expected monthly sales by your price.
Transaction value
Average transaction value is your price per sale, like your subscription price or one-time purchase price.
Subscriber lifetime

App Store & Google Play Fees Explained
Apple charges a commission on every purchase. The rate depends on your region, which payment path you use, and whether you qualify for a reduced rate.
- In-App Purchase (IAP)
Apple's default checkout, built into your app. The standard rate is 30% in the US and most of the world. In the EU, Japan, and Brazil, it's 26%.
- Alternative payments (in-app)
Available in markets including the European Union, Japan, and Brazil. Lets you use a different payment processor inside your app, alongside or instead of Apple’s In-App Purchase (IAP).
Apple charges 20% in the EU and 21% in Japan and Brazil, or 10% at the reduced rate. The reduced rate applies if you are in the App Store Small Business Program, enrolled in an eligible Apple partner program, or processing an auto-renewing subscription after the customer’s first year. Your payment processor’s fees are separate.
- Alternative payments (external link-out)
Sends the customer from your app to a website to complete the purchase.
In the United States, Apple currently charges 0% commission under the active Epic v. Apple court injunction. The final US rate remains subject to the ongoing court process and could change.
In the European Union, Japan, and Brazil, Apple charges 15% standard rate or 10% at the reduced rate. The reduced rate applies if you are in the App Store Small Business Program, enrolled in an eligible Apple partner program, or processing an auto-renewing subscription after the customer’s first year.
In the EU, Japan, and Brazil, the link-out commission applies to purchases made within seven days of the tap; subscriptions started in that window remain commissionable on renewal.
- Small Business Program
If your App Store proceeds were up to $1,000,000 last calendar year and you've enrolled in the Small Business Program, you pay the reduced rate. The calculator assumes you've enrolled, and estimates your proceeds from the IAP revenue you enter.
- Partner programs
Apple's Mini Apps, Video, and News Partner Programs also qualify you for the reduced rate, separately from revenue. If you're enrolled in one, tick the box and the calculator applies it.
