September 2026 brought a round of RevenueCat Funnels updates built to help you get more value from your acquisition traffic.
Turning visitors into customers takes two things: a clear path to purchase, and reliable data about what happens along the way. This release improves both, with automatic Paddle discounts, custom checkout URLs, and better visibility into which visitors become customers.
Here's a quick breakdown of what's new:
- Automatic Paddle discounts: apply Paddle discounts from URL parameters and target them to specific Packages, with no code entry at checkout
- Custom checkout URLs: point purchase buttons at your own checkout and use RevenueCat Funnels to build the journey leading up to it
- Hashed checkout email in Google Tag Manager (GTM) events: give your downstream tags an extra signal for conversion matching
- Bot filtering: funnel analytics and ad pixels now skip bot traffic, and we've cleaned up affected historical reports
- PostHog funnel events: send web funnel and web purchase redemption events to PostHog to see where visitors drop off
- Workflow awareness in the Paywall AI Editor: the editor now sees every screen in your funnel while you edit one
- Language detection across regional locales: match more visitors to a translation they can read
- Numeric input validation: set minimum and maximum values for numeric answers such as age, height, or weight
All updates are available in RevenueCat Funnels now. Here's a closer look at each one and how to put it to work.
Make checkout work the way you want
Every extra step between a visitor's decision and a completed purchase is a chance to lose them. These updates remove friction at checkout and give you more control over where the purchase happens.
Carry your promotion through to checkout with automatic Paddle discounts
A customer who clicks a promotional link shouldn't have to remember a code and enter it again at checkout.
What's new
- Discounts from URL parameters: RevenueCat Funnels now applies Paddle discounts automatically from URL parameters
- Package-level targeting: select a Paddle discount in the dashboard and apply it to specific Packages, so you control which plans get the offer
For example, you could promote a discount on an annual subscription while leaving the monthly plan at its regular price. Customers who pick the eligible Package get the discount with no extra code-entry step, and your campaign's offer carries all the way through to purchase.
Connect your funnel to the checkout that works for your business
You can now configure purchase buttons in web-to-app funnels to use a custom checkout URL. If you already have a checkout experience you want to keep, use RevenueCat Funnels to build the journey leading up to it, then send customers there when they're ready to buy.
For teams whose checkout requirements previously blocked a funnel launch, this opens a path forward. Work on the questions, messaging, and offer presentations that lead to purchase while keeping the checkout you've chosen.
Make acquisition decisions with better data
Knowing which campaigns bring paying customers is essential when you decide where to spend your next acquisition dollar. These updates improve purchase matching, remove misleading traffic, and show you where visitors drop off.
Match more purchases with hashed checkout email in Google Tag Manager
Funnel purchase events sent to GTM now include the hashed checkout email – an additional signal for conversion matching. With the right downstream tags configured, it can help connect purchases to acquisition activity and give you a clearer basis for judging campaign performance.
RevenueCat loads your configured GTM container on published funnels and sends events into its data layer. You control how those events map to your analytics and advertising tools. See the GTM setup guide for more info.
Only see real prospects with bot filtering
Crawlers inflate visitor counts and make conversion rates look worse than they are. Now, you can evaluate the behavior of real prospects and avoid changing a funnel, or cutting a campaign, because automated traffic distorted the results.
What's new
- Bot filtering: funnel analytics and ad pixels now skip bot traffic
- Historical cleanup: we've cleaned up affected historical reports
Find where visitors drop off with PostHog events
If your team uses PostHog, you can now analyze web-to-app funnel behavior in the same place as the rest of your customer journey. The PostHog integration now receives web funnel events and web purchase redemption events, alongside the purchase and paywall events it already gets.
See how visitors progress through your funnel, find where they leave, and connect more of the journey from web purchase to redemption. That gives your next experiment a sharper focus.
To turn it on: Open 'Project settings → Integrations → PostHog', enable 'Send funnel events to PostHog', and set the event names to match your reporting conventions. Web purchase redemption has its own event-name setting.
Build funnels that are easier to complete
A few smaller updates help your funnel speak the right language, collect better information, and stay consistent as you edit.
- Workflow awareness in the Paywall AI Editor: when you edit one funnel screen, the editor can now see the other screens in the workflow. Its edits fit the surrounding experience, so you spend less time keeping messaging and design consistent across steps.
- Language detection across regional locales: RevenueCat Funnels now matches supported localizations using the language part of a visitor's locale, even when the region differs. More visitors see a translation they can read instead of missing it on an inexact regional match.
- Numeric input validation: set minimum and maximum values for numeric answers such as age, height, or weight. Customers catch invalid entries as they go, and you get more reliable data for the experience you're building.
