RotoBot AI grows revenue 57% in 6 weeks with Early Payouts
RotoBot's paid ads and creator campaigns were working, but the app stores’ payout schedule meant the money arrived up to two months later, too late to reinvest into successful campaigns. Early Payouts lets RotoBot put about half of each payout back into marketing.

THE CHALLENGE
Fantasy football has one season, RotoBot's money kept arriving after it
NFL kickoff is fixed, the season runs 18 weeks, and the app's highest-converting moment is Sunday morning, when players decide who to start in their fantasy league. Marketing has to land before that window, not after it.
RotoBot's own season is just as short. Players sign up in the lead-up, most conversions happen once the games start, and that is when the money needs to go back out into marketing. The app stores pay on their own schedule, up to two months after the sale, so revenue from the first weeks of the season was not in the bank until the season was nearly over. "We couldn't ramp up marketing spend when things are working," says co-founder and CTO David Zinland.
An example of this is the 2025 NFL season; the app was on a good run, but ran out of cash by October. "We were running completely cash-strapped throughout the whole season," says David. The team spent what it had, pushed creator payments back, and had to watch progress slow.
The company had also recently restructured from an LLC to a C corporation, which tightened cash flow further. "I've always looked at cash flow as more important than anything else. As long as it's coming in, it can go out," says David. "Otherwise you're just watching the account drop. It's psychologically hard to look at your account like that and make financial plans.”
The team needed to increase its marketing spend before the 2026 season's users arrived.
THE SOLUTION
Daily cash turned RotoBot's marketing spend into next-day decisions
The team found Early Payouts on Revenue Cat’s website. After their qualifying call, they got their first advance the next day.
Early Payouts advances up to 80% of App Store and Play Store proceeds the next business day, for a 2.5% fee on the amount advanced. The remaining 20% arrives on the stores' normal payment schedule, with no fee on that portion. Developers can pause at any time.
Before, marketing spend had to be planned a month ahead against a payout that had not arrived. Now one day's sales are available the next business day. "We can just see which paid ads are working: Did one of our UGC videos pop off? And then put more money on it the next day," says David. Tactics can shift mid-season instead of being locked in weeks ahead.
THE IMPACT
Money arrived in time, revenue grew 57% in six weeks
RotoBot's monthly tracked revenue grew 57% in the six weeks after Early Payouts went live, from the end of June into August. Those six weeks are also the run-up to the NFL season.
“Early Payouts are a big part of what's letting us push harder."

The cash goes back out across three channels: organic content, paid ads, and affiliates. "Right now, about 50% of what's coming in is being immediately redeployed to marketing funnels," says David.
RotoBot competes with other apps for the same creators. With cash arriving daily, the team can make an offer the moment it wants a creator rather than waiting on a payout. Creators promote the app with their own codes. On the old schedule, paying them meant fronting cash for weeks. "If one of the live streamers goes off and makes us a lot of money, that's great, but we're not getting that money for a while, which makes it hard for us. With Early Payouts, they're using their codes, driving downloads, then we're getting paid, they're getting paid. That whole cycle is moving," says David.
Sunday morning is when fantasy players decide who to start, and it is RotoBot's highest converting window of the week. Every Sunday of the season brings a download spike, and the cash from one Sunday is back in the account before the next one.
Early Payouts is in beta and available to selected developers. See if you qualify.
