Led by the third version of the Paywall AI Editor — now available to everyone — September was a big month for RevenueCat Paywalls: with updates that make it faster to build a paywall, easier to tailor it to each individual user, and clearer to see how they respond.

Here's a quick breakdown of what's new:

  • Paywall AI Editor v3: get from idea to working design faster with new starter screens, better image generation, and custom variables created right from the conversation
  • Multi-step awareness: the AI Editor now sees your whole multi-step paywall while you edit any single screen
  • Custom components: build your own components that read your paywall's Offering, Packages, and variables, and react when they change
  • Localized images: assign a different image to each locale, including light and dark variants
  • Foldable previews: preview folded and unfolded layouts for the upcoming iPhone Duo and the Galaxy Z Fold7
  • Paywall interaction callbacks: send interaction events from native and hybrid SDKs to your own analytics tools
  • Custom-paywall views in charts: see inferred views of your custom paywalls in the Conversion, LTV, and Abandonment charts
  • Faster housekeeping: duplicate published paywalls and batch-delete assets in the media gallery

To try the updates, open your project's 'Paywalls' page. Keep reading for the details on each change.

Build faster with the new Paywall AI Editor

The third version of the Paywall AI Editor is out now for all users, with new starter screens and onboarding to help you go from an idea to a working design in less time.

What's new

  • Better image generation: generate visuals that fit your design — now including images with transparent backgrounds, and refine them as you work
  • Custom variables from the conversation: ask the editor to create the variable your dynamic content needs without leaving the chat; your app still supplies the runtime values, such as customer-specific information
  • Awareness of multi-step paywalls: when you edit one step, the editor can see the rest of the workflow, so its suggestions keep layouts and messaging consistent across screens

Design for every customer, language, and screen

A paywall that converts in one market on one device can fall flat in another. These updates give you more control over how your paywall adapts to each customer.

Custom components that respond to your paywall

Custom components let you bring your own HTML, CSS, and JavaScript into a RevenueCat paywall.

What's new

  • Paywall context: components can read the paywall's Offering, Packages, custom variables, and device context
  • Live updates: components react when that context changes, like updating a visual when a customer selects a different plan

Build a comparison table from your available Packages, or any design beyond the standard components, while staying connected to the products and data your paywall already uses. Learn how custom components work.

Localize your images, not just your copy

A translated headline next to an English-language screenshot only gets you halfway. You can now assign a different image to each locale — including light and dark variants — all within one paywall, instead of a separate design per language.

Set localized images in the Paywall Editor, on the 'Paywall Localization' page, or by asking the Paywall AI Editor. See how to localize images.

Preview foldable layouts ahead of the iPhone Duo launch

A layout that works on a folded display may need another look once the screen opens up. The editor now includes folded and unfolded previews for the upcoming iPhone Duo, plus previews for the Galaxy Z Fold7, so you can catch layout issues before customers do.

See how customers respond

Purchase results tell you whether someone converted. The new updates help you understand what happened along the way.

Send paywall interactions to your own analytics

Paywall interaction callbacks are now available across native and hybrid SDKs, so your app can receive interaction events and forward them to your analytics tools. Study paywall engagement alongside the rest of the customer journey and decide what to test next.

What's new

  • Interaction callbacks across native and hybrid SDKs
  • Real-time listeners in React Native and Flutter for the presentPaywall and presentPaywallIfNeeded APIs

See custom-paywall views in your charts

If you build your own purchase screens, the Paywall Conversion, LTV, and Abandonment charts now include inferred views of your custom paywalls. That gives you more context on conversion, customer value, and abandonment without leaving RevenueCat. Keep in mind that inferred views are inferred, rather than directly recorded impressions.

Spend less time on housekeeping

Two smaller updates to cut the busywork between one paywall version and the next.

  • Duplicate published paywalls: duplication now works for published paywalls, so a new headline, layout, or offer test can start from a design you know works
  • Batch-delete assets: select several assets in the paywall media gallery and remove them at once, making clean-up quicker after a round of design exploration

Ready to get started?

Open your project's 'Paywalls' page to try the new tools. A good first step: Duplicate a paywall you already have, pick one improvement (like a localized screenshot or a custom component built on your Packages), and test that version.

For the SDK features, update your RevenueCat SDK and follow the platform-specific instructions in the paywall integration docs.
