Apple’s Fiscal Calendar and Payment Dates 2023

Some important dates to mark on your calendar

It’s that time of year again… the new Apple fiscal year! Apple’s 2023 fiscal year begins on September 25, 2022, and continues through September 30th, 2023.

Apple’s fiscal year is typically 364 days divided into four quarters (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4), and each quarter typically includes one 35-day fiscal month and two 28-day fiscal months. But every five years or so, Apple adds an extra week to its fiscal year to keep it aligned with the 365-day calendar year (and 366-day leap year).

And 2023 is one of those years! As you can see in the calendar below, the December 2022 fiscal month (and therefore Q1 2023) contains an extra week. And this year, the calendar aligned perfectly to have Q2 2023 start on January 1st.

That’s all a bit dense but helpful for those who want the extra context. What I’m guessing most of you really want is a simple way to know when you’ll get PAID.

Apple always pays 33 days after the end of the fiscal month (well, almost always: see footnote). This calendar color-codes those payment dates to make them easier to track:
